Our Garden.

A community garden in Alvaston built so everyone can take part, with accessible paths, raised beds, a children’s garden and space for wildlife.

Built For Everyone

Accessibility was at the heart of the garden from the very first bed.

Accessible Paths

Wheelchair-accessible paths run through the garden, so everyone can reach the beds and join in.

Hugelkultur Raised Beds

Our raised beds are built Hugelkultur style, layered over wood that breaks down slowly to feed the soil and hold water.

Children’s Garden

A space for younger gardeners to plant, dig and discover, and home to our Little Diggers Club.

SEND Garden

Our dedicated garden for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities opened in June 2026.

Wildlife And Pollinators

Flowers and wild corners for bees, butterflies and other wildlife, because a healthy garden needs them too.

Made By Hand

From willow plant supports to the beds themselves, much of the garden has been built by our volunteers.

What We Grow

Edible vegetables, herbs and fruit, including tomatoes, chillies, aubergines, strawberries and winter squash, alongside flowers for colour and for the bees.

Sharing The Harvest

We work with Food 4 Thought to supply the fresh food we grow to families facing food poverty in our area. Growing it together means more people get to enjoy it.

Come And Say Hello

You will find us in front of Nunsfield House on Boulton Lane, Alvaston, opposite the GP surgery.
